What is Manic Depression?

Manic Depression is also known as Bipolar Disorder. It is a type of depression that includes mania or hypomania. It is a curable disease. Vital lifestyle changes, certain medications, and routine therapies prove excessively helpful in overcoming this disorder. A person suffering from this disorder feels extremely happy as well as experiences mood swings.    

The person may also indulge in harmful activities like gambling, rash driving, dangerous gaming activities in the name of fun & entertainment, etc. Delusion and hallucination are also parts of this problem. Tiredness, frustration, exhaustion, change in appetite, hopelessness, and other unexpected conditions are common symptoms of this mental disorder.    

Symptoms of this problem may largely vary from person to person. Some people sometimes show only one/two symptoms, while other symptoms are difficult to diagnose.    

Experts have categorized Bipolar Disorders into four main states, including:    

  • Bipolar I disorder
  • Bipolar II disorder
  • Cyclothymic disorder (Cyclothymia)

Complications of Bipolar Disorder or Manic Depression baffle scientists and medical researchers to a large extent. The evident causes of this problem are still unknown, but leading health experts agree that hereditary conditions may be the possible factors causing this disorder.
